Since receiving my master’s degree in Social Work from New York University in 2009, I have been engaged in clinical work with a broad array of clients in private practice as well as community settings. My knowledge in this field was born out of the desire to understand human behavior on a deeper level. This knowledge has further developed through inquisitive learning, ultimately being strengthened by the wisdom of my clients.
I have had the privilege of working with a wide age range of individuals and couples, exploring how each developmental stage has its own set of challenges and revelations. The bulk of my experience has been helping clients work through the complexities of trauma and grief, as well as the battles of profound chronic illness. My experience extends to people facing challenging emotions and mood states such as depression and anxiety, as well as those facing unhealthy relationship patterns and difficulty creating healthy boundaries. Clients might enter therapy to adjust to extraordinary life transitions or work through tough decisions. A majority of clients are searching for a supportive space to tell their story and be seen through an unbiased lens.
I am client-centered, strength-based, and relational in my approach, as the therapeutic relationship is the arena in which meaningful work will occur. I am an empathic, keen, and active listener. I will provide insight and feedback that can be put into action. I welcome humor and believe in the strength of the human spirit.
